Before joining Hoover Slovacek LLP, Mr. Herter was an attorney with May McCreight & Associates since the firm's founding. Thomas Herter's experience includes probate, estate planning and asset protection, wills and trusts, corporate and small business formation and governance, employment and commercial litigation, as well as personal injury, real estate, banking and partnership litigation.  Since often these areas of representation overlap for both an individual and business client, Mr. Herter’s practice takes care to provide representation that pays attention to the big picture for his clients and as a result has many clients that find value in the synergy of one office handling both their business and personal matters.  Harris County Probate and Civil Courts have also shown their confidence in Mr. Herter’s experience in appointing him as Guardian Ad Litem and Attorney Ad Litem in numerous matters.

At the University of Houston Law Center, Mr. Herter was in the final four of the Hippard Novice Mock Trial Competition and was the class representative for the State Bar of Texas Law Student division.
